Welcome to the Chateau Chate!!!
Generally when I'm speaking it's me making eye contact with another person who I am trying to convey a certain thought or message to...blogging to me is an open forum where I deliver a soliloquy and others can freely comment, agree or disagree. I've noticed a trend where photographers are utilizing the internet to keep clients updated and the public aware of their talent. This is a perfect example of how the internet is helping to promote an individual's idea on a global scale versus tied down in a grassroots community via word of mouth.
When I first started shooting weddings I was doing it as a hobby. However, I got tired of looking at the same frames over and over...I started experimenting with different editing techniques but still I wasn't satisfied. So I said let me work this another way...change my perspective...DON'T see the wedding ONLY through the viewfinder...LOOK at it through the eyes of everyone but the couple who are getting married...a child, a parent, sibling, make-up artist, hair stylist or a grandparent. They are all important elements playing their part in this grand symphony we all call the wedding ceremony.
Children are often (unwilling) participants, however, they add a smile to everyone when they are first seen. Parents add that hollow feeling in your chest just as the ceremony is about to take place. Siblings add that fraternal bond that is often felt but rarely seen. The hair stylist and the make up artists are both essential for the total transformation of the bride from pretty to Extraordinary Beauty on her special day. Grandparents...they add that feeling of completion...been there, done that and now more than happy to pass on the torch to a new generation.
Without boring you any more I present some images from past weddings that have really spoken to me!
The first time I met Rabia, below, was 5 days prior to their wedding. She was very shy and hardly spoke. This picture was taken as she stepped out of the taxi from the salon. She was semi-frantic but kept calm for us to get a few outdoor shots.

She had just came up the stairs and was extremely excited...couldn't decide what pictures to take when she started fixing her earrings and we just started snapping away.

After some coaxing I finally managed to get her bling...she was hesitant because she didn't like the end results of her mehendi. So after about 10 seconds I had already framed the image in my head and decided what the final product would be.

As with the image above, again she was hesitant because she was not pleased with her mehendi because it came out very light, so I told her "Let's have some fun with it." After seeing her in that splendid outfit and gorgeous jewelry it was a bit frustrating trying to figure out a way to showcase her mehendi and not be overshadowed by the clothing, jewelry and a pretty bride....this was the end result.
